Team GP Elite - Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup

Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup

About the series

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is considered the pinnacle of Porsche Cup racing. Drivers from various Porsche one-make series around the world come together in this championship to compete for the world title. Each race is held as part of a Formula 1 Grand Prix. With all the cars being identical in this championship, every race is filled with thrilling door-to-door battles. This has contributed to the rapid growth in popularity of the Supercup worldwide in recent years.

Team GP Elite has been participating in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup with five cars since 2020. Since this debut year, Team GP Elite has won the overall title twice, once secured the rookie championship, and once the team championship. Additionally, the team has been runner-up twice in both the drivers' and team championships.

The Supercup races, held as part of various Formula 1 weekends in Europe, are broadcast live worldwide on channels such as Eurosport, ESPN, Fox Sports, and Sky Sports. In the Netherlands, the races can be watched live on Viaplay, Ziggo Sport, and F1 TV Pro.

Team GP Elite

The intensive preparations and collaboration with all parties involved have paid off since 2020. After multiple championships and finishing second in 2022 and 2023, the team is more motivated than ever to reclaim the title and continue this momentum in the long term. With a renewed driver lineup, the team aims to compete for the Rookie title in 2024 and further build towards the future.

Team GP Elite is proud to have earned the trust of drivers, sponsors, and the organization in the Supercup, allowing them to participate with two additional cars. With entries being scarce in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, the team is very fortunate to have the opportunity to allow a total of five cars. Giving more drivers the opportunity to enjoy this series. Additionally, the team has the chance to use guest entries, providing the perfect opportunity for drivers to get a taste of this unique championship.

E-fuels in the Supercup

Like in many sectors, sustainability is an important topic in motorsports. One of the projects that we follow closely is the transition into e-fuels in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Since 2021, all cars in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup have been racing with renewable bio-based fuels. These bio-based fuels are largely made from food waste products. Starting with the 2024 season, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is planning a full transition to e-fuels from the Haru Oni project. For these new e-fuels, wind energy is used to create green hydrogen. This is then mixed with CO2 taken from the atmosphere, to create Methanol. Mixed to the fuel standards of today’s passenger vehicles, this e-fuel results in an estimated 85% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. We are very excited about these developments and are looking forward to the full implementation of these e-fuels! For more information, click here.
