Team GP Elite - Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup

Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup

About the series

With Larry ten Voorde as champion and Max van Splunteren as rookie champion we took home two major trophies in 2020! In 2021 we continued this success with another championship for Larry ten Voorde and the team title for Team GP Elite. Since 2020 Team GP Elite has been competing with 5 cars in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. It's an interesting competition for all stakeholders. The calendar is the same as that of the European Formula 1 races and the championship is broadcasted live on television on Ziggo Sport and Eurosport.

Team GP Elite drivers are clearly recognizable with their orange, red and green 911 GT3 Cup cars. In a field full of talent and experience, our drivers measure themselves against the best in the world. The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is a beautiful and strong platform at the highest level, in which every driver gets a fair chance to use their own potential and keep raising the bar.

Team GP Elite

We finished the 2020 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season with Larry and Max as champions. This was the icing on the cake for each and everyone involved. Engineers, mechanics, drivers, trainers and sponsoring partners have celebrated the victories together. After an intensive pre-season, with made-to-measure testing and training programs by specialists who had teamed up with us it all came together on track. Especially after the 1-2 win at Silverstone we had found the sweet spot. In Monza the boys did what they had to do: bring the trophies home and they did. In 2021 Larry managed to prolongate his title and the team also brought home the team championship! After the second place in 2022 and 2023, the team only wants one thing in 2024: take back the title! All members and stakeholders at Team GP Elite are in for the long run, so these successes are just the first step in a path which we want to continue for years to come.

In the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup experienced drivers can fight with the best, while the other drivers have the opportunity to learn from the drivers at front. This concept is part of our entire approach at GP Elite. With one step at a time, and fully supported, each driver will continue a personal journey in which he/she will develop towards the highest possible level. Because Team GP Elite has got 5 entries in the Supercup there’s room to literally roll out our philosophy and to let drivers enjoy this platform to the fullest and their drive to perfection.

E-fuels in the Supercup

Like in many sectors, sustainability is an important topic in motorsports. One of the projects that we follow closely is the transition into e-fuels in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Since 2021, all cars in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup have been racing with renewable bio-based fuels. These bio-based fuels are largely made from food waste products. Starting with the 2024 season, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is planning a full transition to e-fuels from the Haru Oni project. For these new e-fuels, wind energy is used to create green hydrogen. This is then mixed with CO2 taken from the atmosphere, to create Methanol. Mixed to the fuel standards of today’s passenger vehicles, this e-fuel results in an estimated 85% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. We are very excited about these developments and are looking forward to the full implementation of these e-fuels! For more information, click here.
